This news is definitely worth reporting, it even made both Techcrunch and Mashable in the same day.

What’s the news you ask? Well, earlier today comparison shopping site TheFind.com announced that they have acquired designer fashion site Glimpse.com for an undisclosed amount of mullah (rumored to be less than $100K). The announcement appeared on Glimpse. TheFind.com originally launched in 2003 and Glimpse launched just this year. It’s a fine acquisition for TheFind and a great accomplishment for Glimpse founders Frank Han and Steve Lemon.

TheFind hopes that their new partner, Glimpse, will help them to increase their offering towards the female market. TheFind will now power all shopping results displayed on Glimpse, which will hopefully broaden their offerings to include more boutiques, specialty fashion retailers, and brand stores. At this time it appears that both sites will remain solo with their own addresses, but their is also a sub-domain at http://thefind.glimpse.com.

With search filtering options, the Glimpse experience will be enhanced by the ability to find similar products, narrow search by price range, color, sale items, or those listed on eBay. Hopefully some of Glimpse’s features will be incorporated into TheFind as well, such as the list creation and management options for saved products, and sharing options as well.

Glimpse also has a Facebook application that allows users to express their fashion choices using products they own or desire, to be shared with friends.

Create personalized lists from Glimpse’s catalog of over 250,000 items, which can then be named, annotated and published to their Facebook profiles. Friends can create their own Glimpse lists, and also receive notifications when friends’ styles are updated.

Congrats to both companies for teaming together. It will be interesting to see what else TheFind has in store for their shopping engine. By the looks of things, they are using their funding wisely and making good choices. The way things are shaping up, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them expanding their reach in the CSE marketplace and gaining a larger number of users including shoppers and merchants.
