eBay Surveys Google Checkout Users: Results Are Surprising

eCommerce Business

In a recent survey, eBay asked Google Checkout users to provide feedback about how satisfied they were with the Google service. The results are surprising, to say the least. It appears that less than one in five Google Checkout users are currently happy with the new payment system. At the same time, that means less than half of PayPal’s users are satisfied with their payment service.

Wow, seems like mixed feelings or they surveyed customers who failed to read the survey question in full or filled it out while half asleep.

Found this story on Bloomberg, SeattlePI, ValleyWag and also on SearchEngineLand, so I won’t regurgitate what they have already said about the news of this survey. Be sure to read the article on all 4 sites above as they all include great insights from industry professionals.

[begin rant]

I am getting sick of watching these two tear at each others throats in the press about who is bigger, badder, and more popular. Who cares which is more popular or which one is the better payment system. Instead of guessing or proclaiming it, why don’t they just let time and the customers make the decision. A winner will certainly emerge before too long and it won’t be because of the hype, it will be due to the features, usability, fee structure and terms. The applications and the features make for good products, not the press releases and hype from company executives.

[/end rant]
